Bookmatched marble for a boutique hotel

The opulent interior of the Fitzrovia Hotel in London makes extensive use of natural stone fabricated and installed by stoneCIRCLE.

When the Mandrake opened in London's Fitzrovia the opulent interior of the boutique hotel made extensive use of natural stone, all fabricated and installed by stoneCIRCLE.

The Penthouse has a sumptuous bedroom with bookmatched Greylac marble used on the floor and continuing over the bed pedestal and seating platform and then up the TV wall and headboard.

The top of the dining table is in the same marble. In the bathroom, polished Mystery White is used throughout for cladding, vanity unit and skirting. There is a steam room, dual shower rooms, private and guest toilets and a spacious jacuzzi under a retractable roof.

The Mandrake Suite features polished bookmatched Black Wave on the floor (pictured right) and vanity unit, which complements the copper taps and basins to striking effect.

In all, 16 different marbles and granites were used in the hotel’s bathrooms, bars and public washrooms, as well as on the lift floors. The public washrooms in the basement use Nero Marquina in the gents and Mystery White in the ladies. The two are combined in a dramatic geometric design on the walls and floor of the shared hand wash area and the theme is continued in polished Neolith Estatuario and Nero San Marcos in a leather finish for the basin pedestal.
