Diespeker provides terrazzo for TV's 'Old House New Home' programme

Channel 4 programme Old House New Home finds architect George Clarke tackling old properties with history, uncovering their potential as working, modern homes.

Natural stone and terrazzo specialist Diespeker was approached by the programme's production company, Amazing Productions, with a request for a terrazzo floor and skirting for the bathroom of a house that was to be renovated. The house is a Victorian terrace in Plumstead, just half an hour’s drive from Diespeker's Bermondsey factory.

As is too often the way, the email from the production company said: “We’d be ideally looking to order and pick up or get it delivered to site today or tomorrow…”

Fortunately, the Diespeker team is able to respond to emergenncies and the terrazzo tiles arrived on time, ready for installation. Diespeker supplied a beautiful neutral terrazzo (TE018) for the floor tiles and a complementary TE001 for the skirting.

The resulting floor was George Clarke’s gift to the homeowners, shown to them for the first time during the ‘reveal’.

The programme was aired yesterday (8 November) and Diespeker says it is delighted to report that the couple who own the house were over the moon with their new terrazzo bathroom floor.
