Designing the Future, Celebrating the Past

Clerkenwell Design Week 2025, held from May 20–22, reaffirmed its status as the UK's leading design festival, drawing over 43,000 visitors to London's EC1 district . The event showcased more than 160 showrooms and 600 events, featuring a vibrant mix of installations, product launches, and thought-provoking talks.
Attendees had the opportunity to discover an even broader array of cutting-edge products from renowned global brands thanks to the introduction of three new exhibition venues: the 14th-century Charterhouse, the 900-year-old St Bartholomew the Great church, and Studio Smithfield. These historic settings provided a striking backdrop for contemporary design showcases, offering visitors a unique blend of heritage and innovation.
A standout installation was Alex Chinneck’s "A Week at the Knees," a surreal 13.5-metre-long brick house in Charterhouse Square. Another highlight, "Harmonic Tides" by Arthur Mamou-Mani, featured 3D-printed bioplastic walls illuminated with LED lighting, offering a tranquil space for visitors.
