Bosch to launch next generation 36Volt cordless rotary hammers in May

Power and control for professionals:
  • Next generation 36volt rotary hammer from Bosch
  • Faster drilling rate than comparable corded tools
  • Exceptionally efficient – high impact energy, long runtime and lifetime
  • Innovative Bosch electronics for more comfortable, safe and controlled use
  • Vibration control reduces vibration by 25% compared with predecessor
The powerful 36volt rotary hammer is getting better. Bosch is replacing its models with the new GBH 36 V-LI Plus Professional and the GBH 36 VF-LI Plus Professional.

You can choose between the model with fixed chuck (the 'V') and the model with a changeable chuck (the 'VF'). Both improve on their predecessors by delivering more power, having a longer life and featuring  vibration damping and longer battery runtimes.

As tests conducted by the SLG testing and certification institute show, both these cordless rotary hammers not only achieve significantly better drilling rates than the machines they replace, they are faster than comparable corded tools in the 3kg class.

The new rotary hammers with their 3.2-joule hammer mechanism and robust motor offer high drilling and chiselling performance.

The four brush motor has a longer life than the previous two-brush version. It also cools better due to the optimised geometry of the ventilation slots, doubling the lifetime compared with predecessor models.

The motor is more powerful yet more compact, thanks to the use of a constant magnetic field. This optimisation of power-to-size means the GBH 36 V-LI Plus Professional and GBH 36 VF-LI Plus Professional weigh only 4.5kg and 4.6kg respectively, including the battery.

With Electronic Rotation Control (ERC), a sensor detects sudden jamming during work and immediately shuts down the motor to protect your wrists. Electronic Precision Control (EPC) makes it easier to work with precision on delicate materials. When activated, the power is cut to 70% with slower build-up.

The main handle is decoupled from the hammer drive to reduce vibration exposure for the user by 25% compared to the previous model.

These new rotary hammers are designed for a broad range of tasks, from small drilling in tiles or masonry to more extensive chiselling. Even when drilling with core cutters up to 82mm to install junction boxes, the high single impact energy combined with the longer battery runtime produces a fast drilling rate. And charging time has been reduced from 80 to 35minutes with the supplied GAL 3680 CV Professional quick charger.

An LED light to provide good illumination and optimised tool shape with comfortable softgrip and a better balance add to the ease of use.
