Jos/Doff company ready for New Year at new HQ

Stonehealth, suppliers of the Jos and Doff stone cleaning systems, are starting the New Year with new enthusiasm following their move to new head offices in Dursley, Gloucestershire, last year.

They admit that much of their time in the second half of last year was focused on the move rather than on the promotion of their range of products and equipment. Now they are settled in they are ready to move forward again, they say.

The move was to accommodate extra staff and to allow the development of an appropriate laboratory and workshops. It was also to help with Stonehealth\'s CPD presentations to architects, having been classified by RIBA as a CPD provider.

The company are confident they can deal with any enquiry quickly and efficiently and now want to promote their new offices as the contact point for all enquiries and orders.

Latest development of the Jos system includes the Torc nozzle, which allows the operator even greater control of the swirling vortex system of cleaning as well as reducing the cost of the system.

Stonehealth have also lately introduced a new kind of paint remover. Developed in Canada, it uses oxygen to lift the paint from the surface so it can be removed as clean sheets rather than a gooey mess.

It is a water-based coating that is biodegradable and non-toxic, making it user friendly and environmentally safe. It works on patented SARA technology (SARA stands for Selective Adhesion Release Agent) and can remove several layers at a time.

It will lift urethanes, latex alkyd and lead-based paints from porous surfaces. There are also versions that have been formulated to work on metals and plastics. The system is quick and safe, say Stonehealth.

Stonehealth have also introduced a latex-type cleaning product for internal stone cleaning. It is applied as a paste then peeled off 24-36 hours later bringing dirt and general soiling with it. It means the building can continue to be used while the cleaning is taking place.

The product has been used successfully in various buildings in Europe including St Paul\'s Cathedral in London.
