Limestone from the Khyber Pass

Among the latest ranges of floor tiles from The Stone & Ceramic Warehouse in Chiswick, London, is a limestone extracted from the Khyber Pass. It is a sandy yellow colour and is being sold under the name of Genova. They say this is the first time the stone has been seen in the UK.

Other new limestone ranges for 2002 include a stone from Italy being sold as Appiani. They describe it not as coffee coloured, but as cappucino coloured. And they are bringing in Belgian black with gold flecks in it. They all sell at just under £100 a square metre.

As a complement or on their own they have also introduced what they call the Persian range of mosaic borders, which mix opaque glass and stone in five designs. The sections are made in Israel and sell for between £10 and £14.
