Mansion House gets Spring Clean for the Queen

The Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Michael Oliver, inspects the final stages of work to clean and restore the magnificent pediemnt at the front of his official residence, the Mansion House, one of the grandest Georgian town palaces in London and a building of great national importance. Behind him on the scaffolding is Bernard Burns, who heads CWO, the Chichester-based stone specialist arm of the Osbourne construction group. All the Portland stonework of the Mansion House is being cleaned in time for the 250th anniversary of the building becoming the official residence of Lord Mayors. That will be in November. The front will be finished in June in time for the Queen\'s Golden Jubilee celebrations.
