September is the deadliest month

Every day at least one British worker is seriously injured – including amputations, fractures and dislocations – in a forklift truck accident. Every six weeks someone dies.

And there are twice as many accidents in September as any other month, as people return from their holidays and there is a fresh intake of school-leavers.

But this year the Fork Lift Truck Association want to make September a safe month by declaring the 21st to the 27th National Fork Lift Safety Week.

You can take part by printing off the six different safety posters available on their website and using the information there for toolbox talks to staff.
