Neo Granite opens new factory and London showroom

Part of Neo Granite's new factory. This is one of two fully automated Bovone edge polishing lines, with robots loading and unloading the polishers.

Neo Granite's new factory in West Bromwich, England, more than doubling its production capacity, is just about to come on stream following the commissioning of the machinery by the Italian engineers of CMS Brembana and Bovone, bought through British agent SMC Stone Machinery (whose machinery you will be able to see for yourself at ExCeL London 30 April-2 May during the Natural Stone Show / Hard Surfaces).

The new highly automated factory will produce two worktops every half an hour, working 11 hours a day. You can read about the development in Natural Stone Specialist magazine June issue. The video below shows the factory as the machines were being put through their paces for the first time by the engineers early in March.

The company is also putting the final touches to a new showroom in the heart of Clerkenwell, London's hottest design centre, where the work that the CNC saws and workcentres, waterjets and computerised systems produce will be shown to inspire architects and designers and help them understand the potential of the stone industry (Neo Granite in particular) these days.
