The Memorial Awareness Board (MAB) took the message of stone memorialisation to the Who Do You Think You Are Live genealogy exhibition at Olympia, London, last month (February). There were nearly 14,000 visitors to the show, many of them having reason to be grateful to tombstones in their search for their ancestors. As MAB pointed out, stones provide a tangible connection to previous generations that many find moving as well as enlightening. Mike Dewar, MAB Campaign Director, said afterwards: “The stand was permanently crowded with visitors showing interest and enthusiasm about memorials and memorialisation.”
